The Grand Prix Petit Navire 2009, European Championship of Race and 2nd stop
of the French Championship of Speed crossing, is organized by the "Société des
Régates de Douarnenez », the French Federation of Kitesurf (FFVL), with Petit
Navire’s sponsorship, from May 7th to May 10th 2009.

1 Rules :
This regatta will be governed by FFVL’s 2009 and IKA’s rules.
The final rules of the competition and Race Instructions will be at the riders’
disposal on Thursday May 7th.

2 Admission:
The event is open to any rider having a FFVL valid licence, with a medical
certificate, and a parental authorization for minors.
Foreign riders will justify their membership of a national association or the
subscription of a civil liability insurance for Kitesurf competition, with a
minimum cover of 1.500.000 euros.
Therefore, the number of competitors is limited to 100, with a waiting list.

3 Registration:
Registration can be made by website on www.grandprixpetitnavire.com or by
mailing. Registration will be valid after the registration and the payment of
entry fees to Société des Réagtes de Douarnenez.
This entry fee is 90 euros for regsitration made before april 1st.
After april 1st, the entry fee is 100 euros.
Only registrations cancelled by mailing or mail before april 1st could be paid back.
4 Schedule of races :
Thursday 7th, races will start at 2.00 pm.
Friday 8th and Saturday 9th, race will start at 10.00 am.
Sunday 10th; races will start at 9.00 am.

5 Courses :
Racing event, with a base of a triangle, which can be adjusted.
Upwind start, 30% upwind at least, cross wind, downwind, reaching.
The starting area will be chosen in accordance to the wind direction in
Douarnenez Bay.
There will be a wave event if conditions allow it.
Wind limit: to the discretion of the race committee.
6 Riders Identification :
Lycras with numbers will be given out by the organization. They will have to be
brought back every day after racing, for security reasons.
Organization can ask competitors to put some stickers in the kites.

7 Security :
For security reasons, a sign in/sign out will take place before going on the water
for the first race of the day, and on the return of the last race of the day.
Failure to do so will result in a disqualification.
8 Organization on land
Everything concerning life (PC terre) after races will be at the main Village of
Grand Prix Petit Navire, in front of the Maison du Nautisme in Tréboul.
Security (PC securité) will be on Sables Blancs beach.

9 Results :
Results will be announced every day (except Thursday 7th), with a prize giving,
on the podium at the main tent in Treboul.
Final results will be announced on Sunday 10th at 5 pm, at the same place, with
prize money and gifts.

10 Image rights :
In application of law n° 84-610 of 1984 july 16th, about organization and
promotion of sports activities, modified by law n° 2003-708 of 2003 august 1st,
the registration to Grand Prix Petit Navire 2009 involves of each rider that his
image and name, his kitesurf’s image, the one of his sponsor and technical team
and members of his/her family present in Douarnenez (public place, beach,
security and support boats, press, etc) could be used by Grand Prix Petit Navire
organization and by people in charge with communication, to communicate and/or
valorize Grand Prix Petit Navire, and this on any support, place, without any limit
of time of the exploitation.
It is unerstood tha these images shall be used in a spirit of sportsmanship, with
the only aim topromote the event.

11 Responsabilties and assurances
The Société des Régates de Douarnenez and any part directly or indirectly
involved in the organization of the Grand Prix Petit Navire 2009 accept any
responsability toward riders and their support.
Riders take part in the event at the entire risks and shall justify their
subscription of a third part liability insurance for Kitesurf competition at any
moment in any place from their arrival in Douarnenez until their departure.
Organizers will require the written proof of insurance before final registration
(cf art.3).

The subscription to FFVL licence includes an insurance. Licences can be taken in
the Société des Régates de Douarnenez, member of the Federation.
N no way can the organization be responsible if the above requirements are not
met by the comlpetitors.
Minors :
It is specified that the registration of a person under 18 in the Grand Prix Petit
Navire Kitesurf can not involve the transfer of parental authority to the
organizer.
