KiteArea : Where do you come from?

Gisela Pulido : I was born in Barcelona.

KA : Where do you live?

GP : I currently live in Tarifa where I train and go to school.

KA : Did your friends give you a nickname?

GP : Yes, Gigi.

KA : When did you start Kitesurfing?

GP : I started to practice kitesurfing in 2002 when I was 8 years old.

KA : What are your favourite spots (at least 5)?

GP : Tarifa where I live

KA : Do you prefer fish or meat?

GP : I prefer fish.

KA : Who are your favourite music groups?

GP : Eminem, Dr Dre, Linkin Park.

KA : What brand do you use in Kitesurf now (Boards and kite)?

GP : For kites I use Airush Generator. My favorite is the 7'5m. For boards I use the custom tables of Shapes : 1.28 x41

KA : Who is the rider who inspire you most in Kitesurf?

GP : Aaron Hadlow, I really like its style and the ease with which he executes his figures. It is very technical. Watching his videos you can learn a lot !

KA : Can you tell us about your best personal travel?

GP : The best trip was when I was in New Caledonia in 2004. I was in a very tiny island called Tenia. It is a desert island where there are only waves and wind. The sand is white and the water is blue and transparent. We had a very good time.

KA : What is the best spot for you?

GP : For freestyle I love Tarifa. There are very strong release and I love to jump very high and make megakiteloops. It's a lot of adrenaline!

KA : What is your worst memory of navigation?

GP : I don't like to kitesurf when it's cold, because you have to put the wet suit and full of sand. That's the worst and what I always remember!

KA : What is your best memory of navigation?

GP : When you leave a session as if you had no more energy because you spent it all on the water. You leave so tired by the adrenaline you have felt, and the only thing you want is coming back home to get a hot shower.

KA : When you do not kite, what do you do?

GP : I do many things! Especially work hard. But in my free time I like to watch House MD, listen to music and do magic tricks with cards.

KA : What is the move you are working on now?

GP : Now I am working on all of switch moves.

KA : In what style of kite do you excel?

GP : I like kitesurfing with power and with highly technical tricks. When wind conditions are extreme I like to jump high and do great kiteloops. In fact, what I like is the adrenaline! So I have to kite radical and engaged!

KA : 2010 is coming quickly, what is your program for this new year?

GP : I will race across the PKRA and try to get a good result. I'd love to be world champion.

KA : Are you a fan of a pro rider and if so, who?

GP : Like I said before my favorite rider is Aaron, I really like him. I also like the style of Tom Hebert.

KA : Ecology and sustainable development are increasingly present even in the kite, what is your point of view on this subject?

GP : The practice of extreme and ecological sports like kitesurf is a good thing for the environment because it does not pollute. It is also super fun and enjoyed. All we need is wind and the material!
